The system gain of the active GPS antenna is -1.5 dBi plus 20 dB = 18,5 dB. Stage of the art GPS modules are looking for minimum 16 db. The LNA gain of 20 dB
helps to limit the noise figure to maximum 1 dB. At 1,8 Volt you get a typical supply current of 1,8 mA only
Applications: POS, people tracking, animal tracking
This miniaturised GPS Active Patch Antenna module combines a tiny 12 mm squared ceramic patch antenna with a two stage 20 dB low noise amplifier. It is available as a ‘plug and play’ format for onboard integration with GPS receiver modules via ultra thin coaxial cable and coaxial connector from IPEX.
