GPS receiver module with intregrated GPS patch antenna
GPS receiver module characteristics
This GPS receiver module has been designed to address
applications where placement flexibility is very important along with stand alone operation, high level of integration and low power consumption. This series are the smallest, autonomous, fully featured GPS receivers, optimised for
standalone operation. The GPS modules are complete SiP (System-in-Package) featuring advanced miniature packaging technology and an ultra small footprint designed to commit unique integration
features for high volume, low cost and low power applications. This GPS receiver module has SiRF Star III inside and can provide you superior sensitivity and performance even in urban canyon and
dense foliage environment. The GPS antenna patch can be placed somewhere in the enclosure. Last but not least the patch antenna can be replaced to coaxial cable Hirose W.FL to SMA/M
bulkhead. GPS module 17x17 is pin compatible to GPS module 18x18.
This GPS receiver module offers the advantages as below
- Dimensions (mm): 17 x 17 x 2.2 (GPS module without GPS patch antenna)
- Coaxial connector W.FL
- SiRF Star III GSC3LT(f)
- 20 parallel channels
- UART and SPI communication
- Fast TTFF at low signal level
- Capable of SBAS (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS)
- Integrated 18.4 mm x 18.4 mm GPS patch antenna
- Built-in LNA and SAW filter optimised against GSM bursts
- Wide input voltage 3,25 - 5.5 V
- Low power consumption: Tracking 75 mW only including active GPS antenna
- SMD type with stamp hole
Ultra small size designed for tiny applications
Tracking (people, animals, assets), container tracking, vehicle tracking, PDA, POS terminal, Personal positioning and navigation, automotive navigation, marine navigation
Block diagram of GPS receiver module with integrated GPS patch antenna
Based on the embedded SAW filters you get a high protection against the GSM bursts. The GPS module will not interfere with the 2 Watt power level of GSM.
