The clear winners at Wireless IoT in the WAN area are the 3GPP technologies. With NB-IoT, LTE-M and the well-established cellular techniques, 3GPP covers most applications. On top of that, cellular operators have the better and denser network. There are 76000 cellular base stations in Germany. They are opposed by 0 LoRaWAN and 2500 announced SIGFOX gateways. In Germany there is no nationwide LoRaWAN. In Germany and the rest of the Europe there is 600 KHz bandwidth for LoRa, SIGFOX, Wi-SUN … LoRaWAN has only 8 channels. In the USA it is 72. 600 KHz become the theatre of interference. The Telcos have over 400x more bandwidth and no hack & slash.
