The latest service we can offer is to measure antennas by Vector Network Analyser (VNA) local. I bought a VNA in size of three cigarette boxes. The VNA is PC based and connected by USB. This small, inexpensive tool always travels with me.
At the M2M Forum in Milan I plan to launch the “Antenna Hospital”. All participants have the chance to get a measurement report at the stand of www.tekmodul.de free of charge. If the VNA is calibrated on several coaxial connectors and extension cables, then I just have to change the connector or cable, to load the calibration file and press the button on the screen. The report will I save on my hard-disk and export to Touchtone format (S1P). This S1P file can I load to a clever and free of charge software to simulate a matching circuit. Helical antennas, PCB antennas with short coaxial cable and embedded antennas on PCB can I tune with a simulated matching circuit by mouse click. Embedded antennas on PCB will need a feeding point by U.FL connector on PCB. Some more about the VNA here.
A sweep from 400 MHz to 4.000 MHz will not charge more than 3 seconds. The export to S1P is a quick task as well. All together including generating a matching circuit will need less time than ordering a Hamburger at McDonald’s. You do not believe? Just stop by in Milan. I will show it live.
